From: New Ref AYSO 43 [newref@ayso43.org] Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 11:44 PM To: newref@ayso43.org Subject: AYSO Region 43 Referee Volunteers Volunteer Soccer Referees: AYSO Region 43 Referee Training Page (for the Fall 2003 Season) is now available: http://www.ayso43.org/Referees/RefereeTraining.htm Thanks to the many of you who showed up for the Fall 2003 Season Orientation and Safe Haven training on June 8th. For those who attended (and those who missed it :-), the presentations and list of handouts are available on the training page. Please read through the orientation material. We will have this meeting once more in the late summer. ***IMPORTANT: see the "Referee Checklist" of important things to do this summer. This is in preparation for the Fall 2003 season. The checklist is available on the training page. ***NEW U8/U10 Referees: we handed out pre-read material in preparation for your referee training course. The electronic copies are referenced on the training page. If you wish to receive the printed pamphlets/books as given out, reply to this email to make arrangements for picking up the paper copies from the referee administrative staff. ALL: The training page also lists the Schedules for training courses available this summer. Check the Schedules often as they are updated by each region through out the summer (in fact, some still list the 2002 dates!). Please contact the appropriate instructor to reserve a place in a course offered at a time convenient for you. All referees must take some form of training every year -- either an upgrade or at least a refresher course. ALL: Unless you took Safe Haven this year or last, you will need to take it again before refereeing in the Fall. The course material dramatically changed and we need a record of your certification to this updated material -- both for the children's safety and your protection. See the course schedules for when this course is offered. It is most often offered in conjunction with the introductory referee courses but available as a separate, 1 hour module. We look forward to seeing you on the pitch in the fall; helping all those kids build life skills through soccer. Have a great summer. As always, let us know if you have any questions after reading the material on the training page and Referee FAQ. Ray Cooper, Regional Referee Administrator (RRA) Randy Harr, Asst RRA and U8/U10 Referee Coordinator Note: You have received this email because you are on the AYSO Region 43 Referee list. If this is in error, please reply with any necessary corrections.
