Ray Cooper, Regional Ref Admin (RRA), chiefreferee@ayso43.org Randy Harr, Asst RRA (U8-U10 Referee Coordinator), newref@ayso43.org Note: You have received this email because you are in the AYSO Region 43 database as either a previous Referee or a new, interested volunteer to begin refereeing in the Fall 2003 season. If you have received this is in error, please let us know. Note: Safe Haven Certification is required for your and the kids protection. It is a combination Child Safety training and introduction to your responsibilities as a referee. Safe Haven certification is role specific and so coaches trained in Coach Safe Haven must also take the Referee Safe Haven before they can referee. All Referees must have a valid, up to date, safe haven certification to participate as a referee in AYSO - no exceptions! So simply spend the time now to get this important item out of the way. If you are unsure if you have the current certification, stay for the course and be sure -- it is at most one hour of your time and contains valuable information. This is in addition to any referee skill specific training you may need to take over the summer. The safe haven course will be offered once more in August (and likely while you are on vacation so try to stay for it now).
